Currently I'm living in New York. I have a small apartment on West 73rd (that's my street in the pic above) and I'm relearning lots of things I'd forgotten. This may have been mentioned elsewhere, but I spotted something very different in a Google results set at the weekend. I was planning a trip to Scotland and had been checking trough suitable hotels in the town of Ayr on the west coast.

There's a recurring theme for my birthday each year: Italy. It predates this blog, but the past few years have included Venice, Milan, Rome and this year, Alghero in Sardinia.
Alghero is a beautiful old town with tiny cobbled streets...

The promenade is just so totally Mediterranean and gorgeous to stroll along in the sunshine.

I spent most of last week hanging around 5th Avenue. Which was great. I was hanging out with a big-business industry friend of mine. We had the most wonderful dinner in Chelsea on Saturday night at a restaurant called Gascogne. If you're looking for traditional French cooking in a rustic atmosphere then this is the place. I'm currently in New York. Last Wednesday night, I woke in the middle of the night feeling as though I was about to explode... And then I did!

All day Thursday I lay on my own, in the dark in a hotel bed on 5th Avenue as sick as a dog. I felt awful. I simply couldn't muster the strength to get out of bed.

Last year, Google started beta testing including the plus box and maps in paid results. I saw one example, but didn't see any more. That is until last weekend when I was searching for a specific brand.

Now that's not to say other conferences are bad. Far from it. SES, SMX, ad:tech, PubCon are also fabulous shows. Not long to go before I head to Washington DC for the must-attend eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit. The whole shebang gets off to a flying start October 14 and rocks through until October 17.

Well it's the time of the year that I get to see one of my favourite views.

Tatiana and I had a little trip to the Algarve for the first time. Neither of us has been to Portugal before. I got a little tip from a friend about where to stay.
